US HIST: Week of May 14-18, 2012

In our last full week of classes (Finals start the following Friday) we will be going over the Final Review (remember - you must have me look over your review AND check your answers - both aspects are part of your grade and required for you to attend Review) and preparing for our big test! We will also be taking our final QUIZ of the year (Chapters 26-27). Make sure you study for the quiz, finish final reviews, and come prepared to class each day!!! You are very close to done, so please keep working! No excuses these last couple of weeks, its time for you to shine! Let's have a great week!

ECON: Week of May 14-18, 2012

In our last full week of classes (Finals start the following Friday) we will be going over the Final Review, discussing economics in the news, and enjoying our final days together! Make sure ALL work that needs to be turned in is in my hands ASAP! The time is flying by! Let's have another great week!

Don't Forget About Finals Tutorials

Remember if you want to earn EXTRA CREDIT or REPLACE A LESS DESIRABLE GRADE, all you have to do is attend tutorials at lunch (room #327) or after school (room #319). Hopefully see you there!

US HIST: Week of May 7-11, 2012

We will finish up the final chapter of our book (Chapter 27). At the end of the week (thanks to STAAR testing) we will have our final quiz of the year (covering Chapters 26-27). Do not forget that if you want to earn some extra credit (for this exam, or to help replace a grade that is not to your liking) than all you have to do is attend Tutorials (for FINALS and CLASS) at lunch (room #329) or after school (room #319). Till then, we will be discussing big issues from the chapter(s) and start really getting into Finals review mode. The Final Review is a 2 part grade - half the grade is for completing and having me check to ensure completion AND you checking it in class (failure to do both parts, meaning you need to bring it EVERYDAY, will result in you not being allowed to attend review). Make sure that you check your GradeSpeed and turn in any work that needs to be turned in (don't forget how important your junior year is to colleges and make sure that you get your grade as high as you can!!!). You will need paper, a pen, your textbook, your final review EVERYDAY! The end of this school year is getting extremely close. It has been my absolute joy to be able to see so much great work from so many people! I hope we can close this out with lots of success! And do not forget that even though the schedule gets a little crazy during the middle of the week, we still have work to do. Be prepared to to continue to do good work!
P.S. Don't forget that our schedule gets a little fun Tuesday-Thursday!

ECON: Week of May 7-11, 2012

We will continue where we left off with our personal resumes. We will also be working on our Final Reviews, going over economics in the news, and continuing to close out the year in good ways. Make sure that you check your GradeSpeed and make sure that everything is turned in (my patience for some missing work is wearing thin). The end of the school year is nearing and I would like to state how proud I am of my seniors. We might not have always seen eye to eye on some things, but your improvement from day one until now has been great to not only witness, but to be a part of! I have loved teaching GOV and ECON! We will finish up this semester by doing what we have done the entire school year: by doing great work! You need your textbook, your final review, a pen, paper, yourself EVERYDAY! Be prepared!
P.S. Don't forget that STAAR testing makes our schedule a little interesting Tuesday-Thursday.

STAAR Testing: May 8-10, 2012

Do not forget that STAAR testing for the 9th graders takes place Tuesday May 8 - Thursday May 10, 2012. We will have half-days and the schedule is:
Tuesday: Odd classes - 1, 3, 5, 7
Wednesday: Even classes - 2,4, 6, 8 and
Thursday: ALL classes (short)
Monday and Friday we will have our regular schedule (confused yet?). Remember what is due and make sure you know that even though the schedule is a little crazy, we will still be diligently working! Be prepared!
